On October 15, 2019, please be advised on the upcoming change to how spam will be handled:
“Microsoft Office 365 is updating the quarantine notifications and alerts messages that users will receive. Currently, users can release emails from quarantine directly from the notification email. After mid-October, users will no longer be able to release quarantined emails from the notification email itself; they will only be able to “Block Sender.” To review and release quarantined emails back into their mailbox, users will have to sign in to the Office 365 Security and Compliance Quarantine website.” (from https://news.vanderbilt.edu/2019/10/10/microsoft-office-365-changes-to-notification-messages-regarding-quarantined-emails-in-vumailguard/)
Step by step instructions are now available for ingesting ZIP files into Vanderbilt’s Digital Collections, the central access point for the Vanderbilt Libraries’ digitized special collections. Instructions can be found here. https://ltds.library.vanderbilt.edu/library-staff-pages/islandora-ingest/ You must be logged in to access the link.
Additional updates and changes are in store for Digital Collections in the coming weeks and months. Stay tuned!
On Sunday, March 4, VUIT will be updating the authentication system used by Vanderbilt [Ping] starting at 6am. VUIT will be doing this as a rolling update so we do not expect any down time. Areas that this affects are DiscoverLibrary, Proxy server, and several Vanderbilt systems that require log in. LTDS will keep an eye on the systems, but if you experience any issues, please let us know by submitting an INFORM. Thank you.
Earlier this year, Microsoft pushed out an update for all of their products to address a security issue. This update is significant in size and will require some time to be applied. Please allow your computer to update. It may even restart a number of times and may take a couple of hours to complete. We apologize for the inconvenience, but this must be done to assure the security of your data. Thank you.
